The first stage in many of our projects is demolition, you have to get rid of the old to bring in the new. We leverage our experience and attention to detail to make sure this part of the project starts on the right foot. We make sure the grounds of each job site is ready for the next step in the construction process which can range from digging a foundation to simply landscaping a yard.
Our goal for any land clearing job is to leave the site in better condition than it was prior to completing the job. These specific jobs range from smaller landscaping projects to clearing acres of trees for new construction. Regardless of the job, we leave a clean slate for the customer. We start with a reputable sub-contractor that handles tree removal. Next we come in to remove the stumps then we backfill and grade the land so that it is ready for beauty bark, ready for gravel, or ready for the first steps of construction.
As the owner, I set a higher standard for myself to do the best job because my name, and the company name, is on each job. I want the home owners and customers to say “my expectations have been exceeded.”
We provide full service excavation work that includes land clearing, residential/commercial site prep, trenching, underground utilities, drainage solutions, finish grading, road building and retaining walls & demolition. In addition to excavating we build both conventional and slab on grade foundations and flatwork. Quality starts from the ground up.
Each step requires precision prep work and installation. When we bid these jobs our estimate will include trenching, digging out and land clearing, removing sod and beauty bark or anything else required to lay the foundation for the wall. Before we agree to terms we also discuss the need for drainage depending on the placement of the wall, the soil and the slope of the land.
When we put the wall together we glue down 80% of the blocks so they are secure and we install them using wedges so they don’t have room to move.
As with any job, we spend time with each customer to discuss all the options and provide our professional opinion for your project.
With concrete jobs, each bid depends on what is already there, what needs to be removed and what we are adding in. For spaces where there is an existing patio or slab, we will start the bid with demolition and removal of the existing material by square foot if needed. For all new installations, we start with a gravel basedepending on what the slab will be used for. This is important for drainage so that water does not pool under the concrete and cause it to fail.
We have the ability to customize a driveway project based on the customer specific needs. Our experience with concrete also includes contract work for the City of Tacoma so we are well versed in specific guidelines and standards when it comes to working with these materials.
Sidewalk installations give us a little more freedom to do what the customer wants as the usage is much different from heavy traffic or vehicle storage. For each job, we will recommend the best product, thickness and installation method for the proposed use of the concrete.
Sewer Main Repairs & Installations
A lot of homes in the Puget Sound area have old clay sewer lines that can be up to 100 years old and they are failing. Roots will start to penetrate the old pipes and they must be replaced. We come in and dig out the old lines, replace with new standard PVC pipes and reconnect the lines to the home and to the city mains. The pipes most often come with a lifetime warranty but the installer has to have knowledge of permits, the inspection process and the standards and guidelines as provided by the city. We have been doing these jobs for a long time. We are Licensed, Bonded and Insured and up to date on the requirements for this type of service.

There are so many unknowns when doing this type of work and we come in to every job prepared.
Underground utility services involve water, sewer, cable and power for both city and residential customers. As with most jobs, there are permits and standards that apply when dealing with utility companies and city services.
Much of this work is collaborating with the utility companies and city engineers that provide the services being installed. We come in, dig a trench, install the conduit or PVC pipe that is standard for the service and coordinate with the outside providers to pull the services through the lines. We finish by backfilling with an engineered material that will meet the compaction test and ensure that the lines won’t fail.
Because of our expertise, we are on the small works roster for the City of Tacoma.
